Effective Date: 11 / 21 / 2025
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern all services provided by Timber Ridge Handyman Services (“we,” “us,” “our”). By hiring or requesting services, the customer (“you,” “client”) agrees to these Terms.
1. Services Provided
We provide general handyman, repair, maintenance, and small home-improvement services in the State of Colorado.
We do not perform work that requires a state-licensed professional—such as licensed plumbing, electrical, or HVAC—unless a properly licensed subcontractor is used with your knowledge.
2. Compliance With Colorado Laws & Local Regulations
- Colorado does not issue a statewide handyman license, but many municipalities require business registration or contractor licensing for certain types of work.
- We comply with all local city or county requirements applicable to the work performed.
- If a permit or inspection is required under local municipal code, we will inform you. The client is responsible for permit costs unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3. Estimates, Contracts & Colorado Disclosure Requirements
- Colorado consumer protection laws (including the Colorado Consumer Protection Act) require transparency in pricing.
- All estimates provided are good-faith, non-binding estimates based on the information available.
- If the scope of work changes or additional issues are discovered, we will obtain your approval before proceeding with additional costs.
- For larger projects, you may request a written agreement outlining scope, price, and timeline.
4. Scheduling and Cancellation
- Appointments are scheduled by mutual agreement.
- Please provide at least 24 - 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
- Same-day cancellations or no-shows may result in a service charge.
5. Customer Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate details about the project.
- Ensure safe access to the work area.
- Remove hazards or obstacles.
- Obtain any necessary homeowner, landlord, or HOA permission.
6. Materials and Supplies
- Material costs are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed.
- If we purchase materials for you, reimbursement is due at project completion unless otherwise agreed.
- Timber Ridge Handyman Services is not responsible for defects in customer-supplied materials.
7. Payment Terms
- Payment is due upon completion unless another arrangement is made.
- Accepted payment methods may include cash, check, or approved electronic methods.
- Late or unpaid balances may be subject to late fees and lawful collection procedures under Colorado law.
8. Limited Warranty
We provide a 30 day limited warranty on workmanship, depending on service type.
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Work altered by another person
- Problems caused by pre-existing structural, mechanical, or moisture issues
- Customer-provided materials
Colorado law requires workmanship to be completed in a workmanlike manner. Warranty claims must be reported promptly.
9. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent permitted by Colorado law:
- Timber Ridge Handyman Services is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service performed.
- Clients must notify us of any concerns within a reasonable period.
Nothing in these Terms waives rights granted by the Colorado Consumer Protection Act (C.R.S. § 6-1-101 et seq.).
10. Use of Subcontractors
For tasks requiring specialized or licensed expertise (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC), we may use properly licensed Colorado subcontractors.
You will be informed whenever subcontractors are involved.
11. Safety and Colorado Building Codes
We follow applicable Colorado building codes and municipal code requirements.
- Some small handyman tasks do not require permits, but structural, major electrical, plumbing, and major remodeling jobs often do.
- When a permit is required, the customer is responsible unless otherwise arranged.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in Colorado law or business practices. The version in effect at the time of the work will apply.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, and any disputes shall be resolved under Colorado jurisdiction.
